This battle, which he would fight to his last ounce of strength, even if he thought that it was a lost cause, wouldcause the public to forget all of the essential scientific advances that we owe to him concerning the beginnings of human life, the origin of man and the history of species, and which make him one of the fathers of modern genetics.
